Join Thom and Alexandra as they discuss the food and diet of Gladiators in the Ancient Greek World, and compare and contrast it with ancient Greek athletes during the Olympic Games. We will find the similarities, and discuss myths and misconceptions about their health and physique, amongst many other interesting digressions.  

Alexandra Sills

Alexandra Sills is an ancient historian from the UK, who loves nothing more than to talk about ancient Greece, Rome and their neighbours. Her debut book Gladiators in the Greek World: How a Roman Bloodsport Took Ancient Greece by Storm is now available in all good book shops. She hosts the Ancient History 101 podcast where each week she invites an expert guest to give us a crash course in a topic related to ancient Greece, Rome, or their neighbours.
